Gift Baskets that don’t Suck
Tom’s Foodie Blog gift ideas from Melissa’s Produce – awesome gift baskets
I never received a gift basket that I actually liked. The problem with most gift baskets is that they are filled with..junk. Sorry folks but most people don’t like stale crackers, smoked herring and tea. With that said, I would like to receive gift baskets with stuff that I will actually use. Being a foodie, it would include really cool and novel food items.
One such example are the Gift Baskets from Melissa’s Produce. I am a huge fan of this company’s high quality products and their gift baskets match what I have grown to expect with their fruits and vegetables. If you are a family member of mine, don’t be surprised when you get one of these, I guarantee you will like them.
Under $50 Gift Baskets
For under $50 you can get some really unique gifts shipped straight to the door of your family member, friend or client. I would much rather receive this baby pineapple crate, then the peppermint candy medley that I received last year. In my opinion, this basket makes a much better impression.
The organic purification box is good for all my friends who love “juicing”, salads, or cross-fit. It has lots of organic leafy green and high fiber fruits and vegetables in this crate. Perfect for the gym rat in your life.

Under $100 Gift Baskets
For just above $50 dollars I would recommend the chocolate covered strawberry kit , which includes high quality strawberries and chocolate dipping sauce. This gift is good for anyone with a pulse.

Chocolate and Strawberries, Who doesn’t want to receive this one?
For folks who like to make stuff at home, I recommend the chestnut roasting kit. I grew up listening the song, so I would like to make this at home.

For someone who loves tropical fruit, then the exotic and tropical fruit box is a great choice. The box may contain stuff like Asian Pears, Blood Oranges, Feijoas, Kiwis, Kumquats, Persimmons, Pomegranates, Sapotes, Tamarillos, Lychees. This is definitely not your Moma’s gift basket.

$200+ Gift Baskets
Once you hit the $200 mark, the baskets start to get a little crazy and loaded with cool stuff. The culinary collections gift basket is pretty rockstar for anyone who likes to cook. There are plenty of high quality cooking ingredients and two cookbooks.

The Culinary Collections Basket
The culinary connoisseur basket is similar to the culinary collection but with a little more of the premium fruit, either basket is a great pick for foodies.

Something a little more nontraditional is an exotic fruit of the month club. Every month they will receive between 2-4 pounds of seasonal tropical fruit. This is an awesome gift that keeps on giving.
