I live in Orange County, California so many of my posts are about Southern California. Although Travel is my other passion, so I regularly include “Gastromic Travel” posts whenever possible. About the Food Bloggers
Tom Holmberg (Founder/Food Blogger ): ”I grew up in a cultural diverse neighborhood and a culturally diverse family, so I have learned to appreciate all types of food.” Tom is not a Chef, nor does he play one on T.V, but has learned to appreciate food on its merits by years of eating and cooking. Tom also spent 10 years in the restaurant industry in various roles from Prep Cook to Waiter. He has a keen eye and low tolerance for bad service and overcharging customers for bad food. Tom likes dishes that are innovative, full of flavor and utilize locally grown and sustainable ingredients. Tom has served as Judge at The O.C. Foodie Fest and The Cadillac Culinary Challenge and has had appearances on the television shows “Man versus Food” and “Eat Street.” My writing and photographs have have been featured by various travel sites, Portland Magazine, LA Travel and Adventure, The Royal Cancun. I regularly collaborate with fellow food bloggers, send me an email if you are interested.
Aside from his blind reviews of restaurants featured in this blog, Tom regularly provides for social media consulting and provides taste testing feedback on new dishes to local restaurants.
Daniele Holmberg (Editor and Associate Food Critic): Married to Tom Holmberg and is a High School teacher by day and associate food reviewer by night. Daniele is a discerning eater and knows what she likes and doesn’t like in dishes; Tom will often have Daniele guest review dishes to get a picky eater’s perspective. Daniele doesn’t like spicy dishes and pork , but really likes anything with cheese and wine. Daniele and Tom also operate www.Danisdecadentdeals.com, a lifestyle blog’s who focus is to, “Provide a Champagne lifestyle on a beer budget.”

Tom I was so excited to try one these interesting concoctions in Lake Forest until I realized that you were talking about Lake Forest California, not Illinois…. OH no….. Well maybe this is my excuse to take a trip to CA – to go in search of Slater’s 50/50.
I also agree that life is too short to eat bad food and drink cheap wine. Right on with that!
